    Philippe Ackermann

    Philippe Ackermann studied Imaging technology and electrical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne. After working in academic research on fiber lasers, he worked as R&D engineer for diode lasers and as project engineer in the automotive industry. Since 2014 he works as research fellow at Fraunhofer IPT in the field of optical metrology and laser process control. Fraunhofer Institute for production technology Fraunhofer Institut für Produktionstechnologie (IPT), Aachen, Germany The Fraunhofer IPT develops systems solutions for production. It focuses on the topics of process technology, production machines, mechatronics, production quality and metrology as well as technology management. The Production metrology department deals with all issues of production-related metrology as well as all quality management tasks of manufacturing companies. Such tasks include inspections, measuring and developing solutions for high-tech industries. For these purposes, a wide range of modern equipment for measuring services is employed which, in close cooperation with partners and technology suppliers, is constantly optimized and adapted.
