Introduction: Differentiating ARDS from other forms of respiratory failure can be difficult. By advancing an optic fiber through a diagnostic bronchoscope, followed by an automatic pullback mechanism, OCT enables real-time 3D imaging of the alveolar compartment and peripheral airways.
