Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder

Axel Petzold is a Consultant Neurologist at Departments of Neurology and Ophthalmology at the VUmc and Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL, Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London, UK. He did his MD on colour vision with Lindsey Ted Sharpe, his PhD in neuroimmunology with Ed Thompson and was trained in neuro-ophthalmology by Gordon T. Plant. He has contributed to developing and validating body fluid and imaging biomarkers for inflammation and neurodegeneration in multiple sclerosis and optic neuropathies. He has been involved in setting up a joint neuro-ophthalmology service at the VUmc which integrates with existing research lines at the MS Centre Amsterdam.
