      The authors present the application of graphics processing unit (GPU) programming for real-time three-dimensional (3-D) Fourier domain optical coherence tomography (FdOCT) imaging with implementation of flow visualization algorithms. One of the limitations of FdOCT is data processing time, which is generally longer than data acquisition time. Utilizing additional algorithms, such as Doppler analysis, further increases computation time.       Method And Apparatus For Optical Coherence Tomography
      The invention relates to optical coherence tomography (OCT), more specifically to spectral optical coherence tomography (SOCT). The invention deals with problem of artefacts occurring in certain scan positions due to sharp increases of reflection by the object under investigation. It solves this problem by using an extra intensity sensor located at an output for non-dispersed light of the dispersive element used for spectral analysis, e. g. in the zero order of a diffraction grating, and using the signal of this sensor for the modification of the interferometric data.

      In this paper the application of massively parallel processing of Spectral Optical Coherence Tomography (SOCT) data with the aid of a low-cost Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) is presented. The reported system may be used for real-time imaging of high resolution 2D tomograms or for presenting volume data. The overall imaging speed is over 100 frames/second for 2D tomograms built of 1024 A-scans and 9 frames/second for 3D volume images containing 100 slices of 100 A-scans.       Applicability of Optical Coherence Tomography at 1.55 μm to the Examination of Oil Paintings
      With 47 samples of commercially available oil paints, the applicability of Optical coherence tomography to noninvasive tomography of paint layers was examined. Two different instruments, utilizing near-infrared light with central wavelength of 823nm and, for the first time, 1.55 μm, were used to obtain cross-sectional images. Example tomograms are given; a ray tracing correction of images is also discussed. The tests revealed that applicability of OCT is limited to certain pigments and the longer wavelength is better suited for this application.
