    1. Thicknesses of Chorioretinal layers in Prolactinoma Patients: A Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography Study

Thicknesses of Chorioretinal layers in Prolactinoma Patients: A Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography Study

Introduction: Prolactinoma is a type of pituitary tumor that produces excessive amount of the hormone prolactin. It is the most common type of hormonally-active pituitary tumor. These tumors can result in ocular complications such as vision loss and visual fields (VF) defect. In this study, we aimed to evaluate thicknesses of chorioretinal layers in patients with prolactinoma. Material and method: We enrolled 21 prolactinoma patients (13 females, 8 males and mean age: 40.7±8.1 years) and 18 age and gender matched healthy controls. All participants underwent complete hormonal and ophthalmological examination including thicknesses of chorioretinal layers and VF ...

    2. Obesity may influence on measurements of choroid thickness in optical coherence tomography

Obesity may influence on measurements of choroid thickness in optical coherence tomography

Introduction and aims: It is known that obesity is associated with retinal microvascular changes. Optical coherence tomography (OCT), a new imaging technique, is used to visualize the choroid. In addition, OCT can also give more beneficial information about systemic and eye diseases. We aim to investigate whether or not obesity may impact on choroid and macula thickness. Material and methods: Forty-four subjects who were apply for obesity in our Endocrinology outpatient clinic [mean age 34.47±8.10 years, body mass index (BMI) 40.11±8.02 kg/m 2 ] and 44 age-matched healthy control subjects (mean age 31.18 ...
