Effect of age on anterior chamber angle configuration in Asians determined by anterior segment optical coherence tomography; clinic-based study Purpose: To evaluate the distribution of anterior chamber angle (ACA) parameters and to assess association of these parameters with age in Asian subjects. Methods: Four hundred and thirty-nine consecutive Korean subjects aged from 30 to 89 were enrolled from a university clinic. All participants were scanned using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT, Visante, version 2.0). We measured ACA parameters such as anterior chamber depth (ACD), angle opening distance at ... (Read Full Article)

Macular Thickness Variations with Sex, Age, and Axial Length in Healthy Subjects: A Spectral Domain-Optical Coherence Tomography Study Purpose. To assess the relationship between macular retinal thickness and volume and age, sex, and refractive error/axial length with spectral domain–optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). Methods. One randomly selected eye of 198 consecutive ophthalmically normal subjects (104 men, 94 women) between July 2008 and January 2009, with corrected visual acuities better than 20/30 were included in this cross-sectional study. Features of Optical Coherence Tomography Are Predictive of Visual Outcomes after Intravitreal Bevacizumab Injection for Diabetic Macular Edema Purpose: To identify optical coherence tomography (OCT) patterns of diabetic macular edema (DME) predictive of visual outcomes after intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB; Avastin®) injection. Methods: We retrospectively examined 56 consecutive eyes that were given IVB injections for DME alongside the preoperative macular OCT data. Using this information, we categorized the eyes into 2 groups: group 1 showing diffuse patterns; group 2 demonstrating cystoid macular edema (CME). Result: The mean follow-up period ... Serial changes of minimal stent malapposition not detected by intravascular ultrasound: follow-up optical coherence tomography study Morphologic changes of small-sized post-stent malapposition have not been sufficiently evaluated. We investigated serial changes of minimal post-stent malapposition with a follow-up optical coherence tomography (OCT) study. Post-stent OCT and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and follow-up OCT were performed in 26 patients with minimal post-stent malapposition. Serial changes of number and percent of malapposition struts, and mean extra-stent malapposition area were measured in OCT analysis.
