High-speed spectral domain polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography using a single camera and an optical switch at 1.3 µm
Explore Article SPIE Digital Library (Jan 11 2010)
We propose high-speed spectral domain polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography (SD-PS-OCT) using a single camera and a 1×2 optical switch at the 1.3-µm region. The PS-low coherence interferometer used in the system is constructed using free-space optics. The reflected horizontal and vertical polarization light rays are delivered via an optical switch to a single spectrometer by turns. Therefore, our system costs less to build than those that use dual spectrometers, and ... (Read Full Article)

The Prevalence and Determinant Factors of Intracoronary Thrombus Formation After Various Types of Drug-Eluting Stents Implantation: Optical Coherence Tomography Study
Explore Article Circulation (Nov 14 2009) Cardiology
Backgrounds: Intracoronary thrombus has been commonly shown after sirolimus eluting stent (SES) implantation in optical coherence tomography (OCT) examination. But, there was no data for other drug eluting stents (DES). Therefore, we investigated the prevalence and relating factors of intracoronary thrombus after various DES implantations using OCT. Methods: Two hundred twenty six patients [244 stents: 95 SES, 62 paclitaxel eluting (PES) and 87 zotarolimus eluting stent (ZES)] underwent OCT examination ... (Read Full Article)

Different patterns of neointimal coverage between acute coronary syndrome and stable angina after various types of drug-eluting stents implantation; 9-month follow-up optical coherence tomography study
Explore Article International Journal of Cardiology (Aug 25 2009) Cardiology
Background Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is an independent risk factor for late stent thrombosis which might be related to the impaired vascular healing after drug-eluting stent (DES) due to the disruption of plaques and thrombus formation. Therefore, we investigated the vascular response after various DES implantations between ACS and stable angina pectoris (SAP) using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods Ninety-one patients [49 ACS: 20 sirolimus-eluting (SES), 12 paclitaxel-eluting (PES) and ... (Read Full Article)
