Volcano Corporation develops, manufactures and commercializes a broad suite of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and OCT (through purchase of CardioSpectra) and functional measurement (FM) products designed to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of vascular and structural heart diseases. Our IVUS products consist of consoles that can be integrated directly into virtually any modern cath lab. In addition, we offer both phased array and rotational single-use IVUS imaging catheters and advanced functionality options such as VH™ IVUS tissue characterization. Our IVUS offerings are used by clinicians to produce a cross-sectional image of the artery and provide information on the composition and density of plaque or lesions caused by the accumulation of fat-laden cells in the inner lining of the artery. Our FM products include consoles and single-use pressure and flow guide wires. These offerings are used to gauge the impact of arterial plaque on blood flow and pressure.
