Method And Apparatus For Spectral Optical Coherence Tomography (Wo 2009/106358) The invention relates to optical coherence tomography (OCT), more specifically to spectral optical coherence tomography (SOCT). The invention deals with the problem of artefacts due to sharp increases of reflection by the object under investigation. It solves this problem by splitting of a part off the returning light for modification of the interferometric data. (Read Full Article)

Applicability of Optical Coherence Tomography at 1.55 μm to the Examination of Oil Paintings With 47 samples of commercially available oil paints, the applicability of Optical coherence tomography to noninvasive tomography of paint layers was examined. Two different instruments, utilizing near-infrared light with central wavelength of 823nm and, for the first time, 1.55 μm, were used to obtain cross-sectional images. Example tomograms are given; a ray tracing correction of images is also discussed. The tests revealed that applicability of OCT is limited to certain ... (Read Full Article)

Application of graphically oriented programming to imaging of structure deterioration of historic glass by optical coherence tomography Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an interferometric method utilising light of low temporal coherence for noninvasive structural imaging of objects weakly absorbing and scattering light. In this contribution, using various examples of images of objects made of glass affected by the atmospheric corrosion and/or by crizzling, we demonstrate a software developed in our laboratory specifically for 3D OCT imaging of samples with a fine structure. For this task we employed ... (Read Full Article)
