      Purpose. To investigate the annual progression of retinitis pigmentosa (RP) by changes in retinal sensitivity and length of photoreceptor microstructures. Method. The medical records of patients with typical RP followed at Chiba University Hospital were reviewed. The retinal sensitivity was measured by Micro Perimeter-1, and the lengths of the intact external limiting membrane (ELM), ellipsoid zone (EZ), and interdigitation zone (IZ) were measured by spectral-domain optical coherence tomography.       Purpose: To determine the size of the superficial foveal avascular zone (FAZ) by optical coherence tomography angiography before and after surgery for an idiopathic macular hole. Methods: A retrospective, observational case series, in which 16 eyes of 16 patients with an idiopathic macular hole were studied. Pars plana vitrectomy was performed with internal limiting membrane peeling.       We examined a significant correlation between Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT) parameters and the glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level and duration of diabetes mellitus (DM) in patients at the early stage of diabetic retinopathy (DR). Thirty eyes of 30 patients with early stage DR that were examined at the Chiba University Hospital were studied.       Aims: To investigate the relationship between the presence of the photoreceptor inner and outer segment (IS/OS) junction and visual acuity after epiretinal membrane (ERM) surgery. Methods: Seventy eyes of 70 consecutive patients who had undergone vitrectomy for idiopathic ERMs were examined by optical coherence tomography (OCT) preoperatively and at 3 and 6 months postoperatively.
