    1. System and method of dynamic and adaptive creation of a wavelength continuous and prescribed wavelength versus time sweep from a laser

System and method of dynamic and adaptive creation of a wavelength continuous and prescribed wavelength versus time sweep from a laser

A system (10, 20) and method including a wavelength tuning mechanism and a laser path length tuning mechanism for reducing discontinuities in a sweep range. A processor (14) is coupled to a wavelength monitoring device (18) and the tuning mechanisms. The processor analyzes data from the wavelength monitor to adjust the wavelength tuning and cavity length tuning at discontinuities in the wavelength sweep to reduce the discontinuities.

    2. System and method for characterizing and correcting the optical response of an optical coherence tomography system

System and method for characterizing and correcting the optical response of an optical coherence tomography system

A system and method for correcting the optical response of an OCT system is presented. The system and method characterize the optical response of the OCT system to determine an optical loss of the OCT system as a function of wavelength. The optical loss corresponds to a reduction in the magnitude of electromagnetic radiation leaving an interferometer of the OCT system compared to the electromagnetic radiation entering the interferometer. The optical loss of the OCT system may be determined by generating output signals using the OCT system when the system does not contain a sample or contains an electromagnetic radiation ...

    3. Apparatus and method to detect and correct for mode hop wavelength error in optical component measurement systems

Apparatus and method to detect and correct for mode hop wavelength error in optical component measurement systems
A method of and system for correcting mode hop wavelength error in data obtained measuring optical characteristics over a number of wavelengths, includes at a location where mode hop wavelength error occurs in an assemblage of data, representing optical characteristics with respect to wavelength of incident electromagnetic energy of a device under test, compensating or correcting the data to overcome errors due to mode hop occurring in the measurement process.
