      Macular Vessel Density Measured With Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography and Its Associations in a Large Population-Based Study

      Purpose : We investigate macular perfusion and the systemic and ocular associations in a population-based setting. Methods : In this cross-sectional study, 2018 adults residing in Hong Kong underwent detailed ophthalmic examinations after consenting to participate. Macular perfusion was measured with optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) using the split-spectrum amplitude decorrelation angiography algorithm. The parafoveal flow index and vessel area density were quantified using automated custom-built software. Results : Of the 2018 participants, the OCTA measurements were available for 1940, and 1631 (84.1%) had good quality scans.       Purpose To evaluate the features of acute retinal pigment epitheliitis (ARPE) at onset and in the course of recovery by serial spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD OCT) and the correlation to visual acuity (VA).       Purpose. To investigate the central macular thickness (CMT) in myopic, emmetropic, and hyperopic Chinese children using Optical Coherence Tomography. Methods. 168 right eyes of Chinese subjects aged 4–18 were divided into 3 groups based on their postcycloplegic spherical equivalent: myopes (<−1.0 D); emmetropes (≥−1.0 to ≤+1.0 D); and hyperopes (>+1.0 D) and the CMT was compared before/after age adjustment.       BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE After a single unilateral acute primary angle-closure glaucoma attack, retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) may be thinned. The current study measured the RNFL thickness using optical coherence tomography in eyes with normal visual fields after recovery from a single attack of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS Twenty-one patients and age-matched control subjects underwent optical coherence tomography scanning after recovery from a single unilateral acute primary angle-closure glaucoma attack.
