      Endovascular Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) has previously been used in both bench-top and clinical environments to produce vascular images, and can be helpful in characterizing, among other pathologies, plaque build-up and impedances to normal blood ow. The raw data produced can also be processed to yield high- resolution blood velocity information, but this computation is expensive and has previously only been available a posteriori using post-processing software.       Background and Objective The onset and progression of early tooth decay is often preventable with dental sealants. However, occasionally decay progresses underneath the sealant. Current technology does not permit monitoring of potential lesion progression or arrest. Dental sealants themselves mask the visual cues that identify early tooth decay, and radiographs are not sufficiently sensitive. Therefore, clinicians can be reluctant to use dental sealant.       Optimized speckle variance OCT imaging of microvasculature
      We optimize speckle variance optical coherence tomography (svOCT) imaging of microvasculature in high and low bulk tissue motion scenarios. To achieve a significant level of image contrast, frame rates must be optimized such that tissue displacement between frames is less than the beam radius. We demonstrate that higher accuracy estimates of speckle variance can enhance the detection of capillaries. These findings are illustrated in vivo by imaging the dorsal window chamber model (low bulk motion). We also show svOCT imaging of the nonstabilized finger (high bulk motion), using optimized imaging parameters, demonstrating better vessel detection than Doppler OCT.

      Doppler optical coherence tomography for interventional cardiovascular guidance: in vivo feasibility and forward-viewing probe flow phantom demonstration
      We demonstrate the potential of a forward-looking Doppler optical coherence tomography (OCT) probe for color flow imaging in several commonly seen narrowed artery morphologies. As a proof of concept, we present imaging results of a surgically exposed thrombotic occlusion model that was imaged superficially to demonstrate that Doppler OCT can identify flow within the recanalization channels of a blocked artery.       In vivo, non-invasive optical coherence tomography (OCT) permits high-resolution imaging of tissue surfaces and subsurfaces, with the potential capability for detection and mapping of epithelial pathologies.To evaluate the clinical capability of non-invasive in vivo OCT for diagnosing oral dysplasia and malignancy.In 50 patients with oral lesions, conventional clinical examination was followed by OCT imaging, then standard biopsy and histopathology.
