    1. Optical coherence tomography angiography findings of fellow eye of proliferative macular telangiectasia type 2: Long term study

Optical coherence tomography angiography findings of fellow eye of proliferative macular telangiectasia type 2: Long term study

Purpose: To report the characteristics of non-proliferative fellow eyes in patients with unilateral proliferative macular telangiectasia type 2 (MacTel). Methods: This was a multicenter, retrospective study and included fellow eyes of eyes with subretinal neovascular membrane (SRNVM). Multimodal imaging including fundus photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and OCT angiography (OCTA) was performed. OCT and OCTA measurements included central macular thickness (CMT), subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT), foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area and qualitative parameters such as distortion or enlargement of FAZ, increased inter-vascular spacing, dilated, tortuous vessel at margin of FAZ, crowding of vessel, and loss of choriocapillaris (CC). Results: Thirteen ...

    2. Full-field optical coherence tomography for the diagnosis of giant cell arteritis

Full-field optical coherence tomography for the diagnosis of giant cell arteritis

Histopathological examination of temporal artery biopsy (TAB) remains the gold standard for the diagnosis of giant cell arteritis (GCA) but is associated with essential limitations that emphasize the need for an upgraded pathological process. This study pioneered the use of full-field optical coherence tomography (FF-OCT) for rapid and automated on-site pathological diagnosis of GCA. Sixteen TABs (12 negative and 4 positive for GCA) were selected according to major histopathological criteria of GCA following hematoxylin-eosin-saffron-staining for subsequent acquisition with FF-OCT to compare structural modifications of the artery cell wall and thickness of each tunica. Gabor filtering of FF-OCT images was then ...

    3. Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography Features For Accurate Diagnosis

Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography Features For Accurate Diagnosis

UY SDC Abstract In Brief Author Information Article Metrics Purpose: To report a cohort with optic disk pit maculopathy (ODPM) presenting with neurosensory macular detachment that were initially misdiagnosed and mistreated; and to describe structural features on spectral domain optical coherence tomography in misdiagnosed and all other consecutive cases of ODPM. Methods: Multicenter international retrospective cohort study. Participants: 59 eyes from 59 patients with ODPM. Main outcome measures: 1) Proportion of patients with ODPM initially misdiagnosed, inaccurate diagnosis and treatment. 2) Morphologic features on spectral domain optical coherence tomography : other causes of subretinal and/or intraretinal fluid, inner/outer retinoschisis ...

    4. Peripapillary versus macular combined hamartoma of the retina and retinal pigment epithelium: Imaging characteristics

Peripapillary versus macular combined hamartoma of the retina and retinal pigment epithelium: Imaging characteristics

Purpose To compare clinical, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and fundus autofluorescence (FAF) characteristics of peripapillary versus (vs.) macular variants of combined hamartoma of the retina and retinal pigment epithelium (combined hamartoma). Design Retrospective observational, comparative case series Methods:Setting Multicentre collaborative study Study Population 50 eyes with a clinical diagnosis of combined hamartoma Observational Analysis A comparative analysis of color fundus photographs (CFPs), OCT and FAF was performed for peripapillary and macular variants of combined hamartoma. Main Outcome Measures Pigmentation and OCT features of macular and peripapillary combined hamartoma Results The review of imaging from 50 eyes of 49 patients ...

    5. The EYE-MI Pilot Study: A Prospective Acute Coronary Syndrome Cohort Evaluated With Retinal Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography

The EYE-MI Pilot Study: A Prospective Acute Coronary Syndrome Cohort Evaluated With Retinal Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography

Purpose : To evaluate the association between retinal microvasculature (vascular density) on optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCT-A) and the cardiovascular profile of patients hospitalized for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods : EYE-Myocardial Infarction (EYE-MI) study is a prospective cross-sectional study in the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit of Dijon University Hospital. Retinal OCT-A was performed for each patient within 2 days after admission. Superficial retinal capillary plexus (SCP) vascular density was measured. The population was divided into tertiles according to OCT-A data. Results : Overall, 237 cases were retained for analysis. Patients in the tertile with the lowest retinal vascular density (RVD) were older, and ...
