      In vivo optical biopsy of choroidal osteoma: a swept source optical coherence tomography–based tumor characterization

      Objective: To study tumor characteristics of choroidal osteoma by swept source optical coherence tomography. Methods: A retrospective case series done at tertiary referral center in northern India. All patients diagnosed with choroidal osteoma examined on swept source optical coherence tomography were included. Swept source optical coherence tomography images were analyzed for integrity of retinal layers—intraretinal layers, outer retinal layers (photoreceptor), retinal pigment epithelium, and contour abnormalities.       Purpose: To evaluate age-related changes in macular vessels and their perfusion densities using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). Methods: A total of 108 eyes of 54 healthy subjects between the age group of 11 to 60 years having unaided visual acuity of 20/20 were studied on spectral domain OCTS using 3 * 3 mm macula protocol.       BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: To assess the usefulness of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in cases of idiopathic choroidal neovascularization (iCNV).       A 56-year-old man with episodic transient visual loss in right eye (OD), of 2 days duration. He was not symptomatic at presentation and was using anti-coagulants for cardiovascular disease. Visual acuity was 6/6 both eyes (OU). Intra-ocular pressure and anterior segment were normal OU. OD had a finger like area of macular whitening sparing the fovea.       Swept source optical coherence tomography-angiography of choroid in choroidal hemangioma before and after laser photocoagulation

      Swept source optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCT-angiography) gives us a unique opportunity to study the vasculature of choroidal lesions in vivo . We describe the OCT angiographic characteristics of circumscribed choroidal hemangioma before and after laser photocoagulation. Medium-sized choroidal vessels/vessels on the tumor surface become predominantly visible after laser photocoagulation due to laser-induced damage to the overlying choriocapillaris. OCT-angiography adds a new dimension to in vivo analysis of vascular changes in choroid due to choroidal tumors and their response to therapy.
