      A 17-year-old healthy male patient was referred to our clinic for an acute traumatic maculopathy following a firework blunt ocular trauma to his left eye (LE). He reported the accidental explosion of a small-sized cylinder firecracker right in front of his face, during the New Year's celebrations. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) at presentation was 20/20 in right eye (RE) and 1/20 in LE.       Purpose To describe the retinal structure of a group of patients affected by methylmalonic aciduria with homocystinuria cblC type, caused by mutations in the MMACHC gene, using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). Methods Young patients ( n = 11, age 0–74 months) with cblC disease, detected by newborn screening or clinically diagnosed within 40 days of life, underwent molecular analysis and complete ophthalmic examination, including fundus photography and SD-OCT.
