      Objective: This study aimed to compare, using optical coherence tomography (OCT), the outcomes of bioabsorbable drug-eluting stent with those of bare metal stent (BMS) following implantation in porcine iliac artery. Methods: After the placement of BMS and bioabsorbable drug-eluting stents, we used OCT and digital subtraction angiography to investigate stent appositions, arterial neointima, evagination, and restenosis at 1 and 3 months. Results: At 1 and 3 months after stent implantation, OCT study was performed to investigate 32 stents and 21 788 struts.       Optimization of the Source Power Usage in Spectral Domain  Optical Coherence Tomography

      Source power consumption and system sensitivity of a spectrometer based optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) system are investigated. Our study shows that the performance of SD-OCT system can be classified into two categories based on the beam splitting ratio R between the sample and reference rams in the Michelson interferometer. For the classic SD-OCT configuration, R is less than 1.0, and improvement of sample light collection efficiency through reducing R will increase the cost of OCT source power.       Improved motion contrast and processing efficiency in OCT angiography using complex-correlation algorithm

      The complex-based OCT angiography (Angio-OCT) offers high motion contrast by combining both the intensity and phase information. However, due to involuntary bulk tissue motions, complex-valued OCT raw data are processed sequentially with different algorithms for correcting bulk image shifts (BISs), compensating global phase fluctuations (GPFs) and extracting flow signals. Such a complicated procedure results in massive computational load. To mitigate such a problem, in this work, we present an inter-frame complex-correlation (CC) algorithm.
