Post Doc Positions in Optical Coherence Tomography and Optical Imaging at University of Washington
There are a number of postdoctoral/professional scientist positions immediately available in Wang Lab [Biophotonics and Imaging Laboratory (BAIL)], Department of Bioengineering and Department of Ophthalmology, University of Washington. We are located in beautiful and best to live Seattle area. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our vibrant lab to develop innovative optical imaging techniques (e.g. optical coherence tomography and angiography, and smartphone-based healthcare technology) for ophthalmology, dermatology, dentistry, and brain imaging applications. Clinical translation is the focus of our research activities. Our work involves profound knowledge of biomedical optics, system engineering and integration, image processing as well as hands-on exercise. Preferable candidates with experiences in optical coherence tomography (preferably swept source OCT), and/or other optical imaging systems will be highly desirable for these positions. Practical hands-on skills are a strong plus. The candidates must hold a doctoral degree in, for example, Instrumentation, Biomedical Optics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering etc. The candidates are also required to have good communication skill, willingness to work with others (both internal and external, basic and physician scientists), and are expected to independently write and publish scientific papers. Interests and/or experience in commercialization would be also a plus.
