Mechanical properties, such as the elasticity and viscosity, are often major indicators of diseases. Over the years, tissue mechanical properties have been demonstrated to be an early indicator for cardiovascular disease. Mechanical imaging technologies have been quickly evolving with a goal to effectively diagnose coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis in their early stages.
