    Background Retinal microvascularisation abnormalities have been suggested to reflect severity of cardiovascular diseases . In patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), a low retinal vascular density, measured by OCT-angiography, has been strongly associated with cardiovascular risk scores and altered LVEF, beyond the classical risk factors.
