Postdoctoral Research Position at The University of Liverpool
This is an exciting opportunity to join a cross-disciplinary team at The University of Liverpool working on the development of new low cost point of care diagnostic technologies for diabetic retinopathy in China. You will be based in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, and work closely with colleagues in the Department of Eye and Vision Science in the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease in the University, clinicians at St. Paul's Eye Unit in The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, industry partner, public and patient support groups, and also project partners in China.
You will be required to undertake research in the development of new retinal imaging device. You should have a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, for example, optics, computer science, electrical engineering. Relevant knowledge and practical experience of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (SLO) is desirable. In addition, you should have excellent communication, verbal and written skills, excellent time management skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team will also be essential to this project. You will be expected to be flexible and responsive to the changing challenges associated with this role. You should be focused on achieving goals and work well with minimal supervision.
