    Background: Early-generation drug-eluting stents (DES) have been shown to accelerate neoatherogenesis. Limited optical coherence tomography (OCT) data on the very long-term neoatherosclerosis progression after DES implantation are available. Aim: The aim of this study was a serial OCT evaluation of neoatherosclerosis at 3 and 9 years after implantation of sirolimus-eluting stents (SES) and paclitaxel-eluting stents (PES).
