    RESEARCH FIELDS: Ophthalmic image segmentation, registration, and/or web-based GUI development

    RESEARCH LABORATORY: Doheny Image Analysis Laboratory (DIAL) at Doheny Eye Institute, University of California, Los Angeles

    ACTIVITY: DIAL is a rapidly growing and interdisciplinary group to investigate new approaches for image segmentation, registration, visualization, and analysis in various multimodal ophthalmic images at Doheny Eye Institute, standing among the top recipients of medical research grants from the National Institutes of Health, which fund 80% of all vision research in America.

    We are particularly interested in the development of various novel image segmentation, registration algorithms, and/or web-based GUI development, and the translation of the development to real world application. The researcher should have strong ability in software programming, algorithm development, and/or web-based GUI development in the fields of medical image processing, machine learning, and/or pattern recognition. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher to join in our lab to facilitate the development of the state-of-the-art algorithms and/or web-based GUI tools with the application in ophthalmic area.  

    EDUCATION: A MS (or PhD) in image processing and analysis, machine learning, pattern recognition and/or related areas is preferable.

    EXPERIENCE:

    A. Intensive programming experience in C++ and/or C# required.

    B. Intensive programming experience in software development tools and libraries, such as Visual Studio, STL, OpenCV, Caffe (or other deep learning libraries), ITK, VTK, OpenCV, and CUDA Toolkit required.

    C. Intensive experience in GUI tool development required. Familiar with data format conversion, display, delineation, and quantitative analysis of various 2-D and 3-D retinal images

    D. Familiar with web languages, such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, RESTful, WCF, database, and .Net formwork.

    E. Prior experience in the development of web-based application required.

    F. Good record of successful projects and international publications demonstrating prior experience is considered a great plus.
