    Imaging outcomes of bioresorbable scaffold overlap: an optical coherence tomography analysis from the ABSORB EXTEND trial

    Aims: The purpose of this study was to assess the vascular response and vessel healing of overlapped Absorb scaffolds (Abbott Vascular, Santa Clara, CA, USA) compared to non-overlapped devices in human coronary arteries as assessed by optical coherence tomography (OCT) in the same treated segment. Methods and results: The ABSORB EXTEND (NCT01023789) trial is a prospective, single-arm, openlabel clinical study which enrolled 800 patients.
