Postdoctoral Research Associate – Biophotonics / Biomedical Optical Imaging – Cornell University, Ithaca New York
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Adie Lab, in the Nancy E. and Peter C. Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to develop advanced optical imaging approaches for applications in mechanobiology and/or brain imaging. The required qualifications are a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering / Bioengineering or related field. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience that is relevant to the following areas:
- Adaptive optics
- Optical coherence elastography (OCE) for imaging cell or tissue mechanics
- Design and setup of optical imaging systems (OCT/photoacoustic tomography/multiphoton microscopy).
The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, good communication skills, and experience in working as a team player. Programming skills (MATLAB, LabVIEW, C or C++, and GPU programming) are also desired.
The position is initially for 1 year, with the possibility of extension contingent on funding and performance. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

About the Adie Lab
Our group develops novel OCT, OCE, computational, and multimodal imaging approaches for applications to cancer and stem cell mechanobiology, and are currently looking to expand into brain imaging applications. We are pursuing collaborations with several physical and life science researchers at Cornell, as well as with clinical researchers at Weill Cornell Medical College. We are located on the Ithaca campus of Cornell University, within a creative interdisciplinary research environment that has a strong emphasis on Biomedical Optical Imaging, Mechanobiology, and Neurotechology/Neuroscience.
