Location: School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nottingham
Organisers: Professor Ioan Notingher, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nottingham, and Dr Nikola Krstajić, School of Engineering and Queen’s Medical Research Institute, University of Edinburgh
Sponsors: Optical Group (Institute of Physics, London), Nikon, Andor and SpringerOpen
We invite you to join us for an exciting day discussing optics developments in clinical practice. We ensured we get the views directly from clinics and clinicians. The meeting is organised around 6 invited talks with two poster sessions interspersed.
Our invited speakers include:
Krish Ragunath, Professor of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy & Honorary Consultant Gastroenterologist, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, University of Nottingham, Nottingham
Auto-fluorescence endoscopy for diagnosis of oesophageal cancers
Emad Rakha, Clinical Associate Professor and Consultant Pathologist, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, University of Nottingham, Nottingham
Raman micro-spectroscopy for intra-operative evaluation of resection margins during breast cancer surgery
Paul Beard, Professor of Biomedical Photoacoustics, Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering, University College London, London
Medical applications of photo acoustic imaging
Catherine Kendall, Consultant Clinical Scientist, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Gloucester
Infrared microscopy for spectral histopathology
Chris Dunsby, Senior Lecturer, Biophotonics, Department of Physics and the Division of Experimental Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Imperial College London, London
Development of multiphoton microscopes and endoscopes for clinical applications
Gin Jose, Professor of Functional Materials, Institute for Materials Research, School of Chemical and Process Engineering University of Leeds, Leeds
Optical non-invasive sensing technology for medical applications
There is no fee for this meeting, however registration is required. Please email Ioan.Notingher@nottingham.ac.uk or N.Krstajic@ed.ac.uk in advance for registration and poster session abstracts.
Send us your poster abstracts. Topics include any clinical or medical applications of optics. Abstracts should be 250 words maximum. Poster size: 56cm width × 86cm height.
Deadline for registration and poster abstracts: Monday 30th November 2015
