Postdoctoral Position in Optical Imaging at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, OR, USA
A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Center for Ophthalmic Optics and Lasers www.COOLLab.net, Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, OR. The fellow will be under the supervision of David Huang, MD, PhD.
The goal of our research is to develop optical imaging instruments to study both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. Preferable applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or closely related fields. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C++, LabView or advanced Matlab) for maintaining and development of image acquisition and processing software and/or ability to assemble optical, electrical, and mechanical elements into a complex imaging instrument are essential. Strong skills in optical coherence tomography (OCT) are required. Broad experiences in optics (optical design, lasers, spectroscopy, polarimetry), imaging (scanning laser ophthalmoscopy, angiography, microscopy, oximetry, adaptive optics), and software development (GPU programming) are also desirable.
This position is funded by NIH T32 grant. Program will begin in Fall 2013. Applicant must be an US citizen, national, or permanent resident. Appointment is contingent on the final award of the T32 grant and the approval of an university selection committee.
