We are looking for a graduate student in the field of field of Physics (with a focus on Optics), Electronics (with a focus on Optoelectronics) or Mechatronics (with a focus on Precision Mechanics and Optics). Previous research experience and significant publications are a plus. The researcher will be actively involved in the investigations of the project PN-II-PT-PCCA-2011-3.2-1682: “Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) systems with handheld and endoscope probes for real-time investigations in material studies and for in vivo medical imaging (OCT-MSMI)”, 2012-2015

Description

The researcher will be involved in the scientific work in the field of Opto-Mechatronics (with a focus on Optics, Photonics, Optomechanics or Optoelectronics, depending on the specific field of the graduate student). The work will be carried on in a dynamic research group (http://3omgroup.appspot.com/), and at the various partners in Arad and Timisoara. He/she will be involved in modeling, simulations, design and experiments with components and subassemblies, as well as in the development and use of Optical Coherence Tomography systems, with a wide area of applications, in materials studies and biomedical imaging. Experience in electronics, LabView or optical design (using OSLO, ZEMAX or CODE V) are needed. Experience in two or three of these will be a plus. Academic excellence, initiative and a strong motivation for research are needed, as well as team-work spirit. A good command of English is necessary.
