    Ultra-high-speed polarization sensitive OCT in the human retina using a single spectrometer

    We present a single spectrometer functional spectral domain optical coherence tomography system, which allows for encoding additional information within the spatial frequencies. The method is based on a differentiation between orthogonal polarization channels through spatial modulation introduced by an electro-optic modulator. This method is used to perform Ultrahigh- speed retinal polarization sensitive optical coherence tomography (PSOCT). With this setup, we realized for the first time polarization sensitive OCT measurements of the human retina in-vivo, with camera line rates of up to 160.000 A-scans per second.
