It has been over one year since a lawsuit was filed by Lightlab Imaging against Axsun Technologies and Volcano Corporation (see previous Article). During 2009 lots of complex motions were filed and depositions were taken from various witnesses. The court proceedings before a jury began January 4th, 2010 and ran for nearly a month at the Superior Court in Boston. On Monday February 1st, 2010 the final closing arguments were given by the three parties and the judge charged the jury to consider the fourteen charged complaints against Axsun and Volcano.
On Thursday, February 4th, 2010, after four days of deliberating, the jury released their verdict to the courtroom. It appears the jury found for LightLab on virtually all claims and issues. A copy of the Jury's findings on the 14 charges can be seen below. Volcano recently released a press release that can be seen Here. Lightlab Imaging has not yet released a press release.
There remains a variety of legal proceeding and options ahead, but it may be that the trial will move into the awarding damages phase.
