Postdoctoral position available at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the Medical University of Vienna
A postdoctoral position in the field of biomedical optical imaging is available at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the Medical University of Vienna. The group of Prof. René Werkmeister is focusing on the development of non-invasive optical imaging technologies and methods for the eye and the skin – particularly based on optical coherence tomography (OCT) – and is looking for highly motivated researcher to strengthen the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for both collaborating in ongoing projects of the research group as well as planning and carrying out independent research under the supervision of Prof. Werkmeister.
Applicants should have a PhD in physics, optical or electrical engineering or another scientific branch relevant for the position. A strong candidate will have laboratory experience in the area of interferometry and optical coherence tomography, involving hardware design and development, programming and algorithm development for science/engineering (python, C++, MatLab, LabView). Good communication skills, an ambitious yet cooperative mindset, and social skills are a prerequisite for a successful candidate.
