Postdoc Position at the University of Southern California
A postdoctoral researcher position is available immediately in the Keck School of Medicine. The successful candidate will work on highly collaborative projects for functional imaging with Optical Coherence Tomography. The collaboration includes researchers in the departments of Otolaryngology (John Oghalai, MD), Ophthalmology (Narsing Rao, MD, Mark Humayun, MD,PhD), and Biomedical Engineering (Scott Fraser, PhD, Qifa Zhou, PhD). The projects involve the development of highly phase-stable optical systems for human in vivo imaging of nanoscale vibrations in the ear, blood flow in the inner ear and blood flow deep in the eye’s choroidal vasculature. There is also opportunity to work with the Alfred E. Mann Institute in ongoing commercialization efforts. The postdoctoral researcher will work under the direction of Brian Applegate, PhD, Professor of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery, Biomedical Engineering, and Ophthalmology.
Applicants should have a PhD in engineering or related field. A strong candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: optical system design, optical coherence tomography, programming and algorithm development for science/engineering (python, C++, Cuda C, MatLab).
Interested applicants may contact Dr. Applegate directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or apply here.
