Every interventional cardiologist has a story about ‘stent regret’ – and if they don’t, they’re either incredibly skilled, haven’t done enough cases or have selective recall… For those of us that can admit to recognizing this, the nightmare scenario of having misjudged the extent of calcification in a lesion and seeing what looks more like an hourglass than a motorway after stent deployment, sticks long in the memory.
