    Objective: Diabetic macular edema (DME) and retinal vein occlusion (RVO) are the leading causes of visual impairments across the world. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) stimulates breakdown of blood-retinal barrier that causes accumulation of fluid within macula.
